We are pleased to be actively involved in research organised by the Primary Care Research Network (PCRN). This is part of the NHS National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and the UK Clinical Research Network (UKCRN).
As a Practice we are involved in research to improve the knowledge about illnesses and so develop better treatments for all patients.
All the research that the practice is involved with has been approved by an NHS Ethics Committee and NHS Trust. This means that your doctor may ask you if you want to be involved in a study the Practice is conducting.
If you are invited to participate in research there is no obligation to do so, and if you decline this will not affect your treatment in any way.
Anonymised patient data may be used for research that is in the best interests of patients and the NHS as a whole.
Dr Angus Jefferies is our research lead.
